I want to show you a simple step-by-step method for cooking the most delicious borscht. Hearty, melt-in-the-mouth and satisfying...a great idea for the whole family! This dish is a highlight of Ukrainian cuisine, which is probably known all over the world. Despite the belief that every hostess has her own unique borscht, I want to share with you a recipe that will surely become your favorite. The process itself cannot be called complicated, so even young and inexperienced cooks can confidently try their hand at it.

How to make

1. Here is the set of ingredients we need.

2. First you need to boil the broth. Wash the meat, put it in a pot and cover it with water. After boiling, reduce the heat to a minimum and cook until the meat is tender (the time depends on the type of meat you have chosen). When done, carefully remove the meat from the broth.

3. If desired, strain the broth. Season to taste and add cubed potatoes to it. Cook for about 10-12 minutes.

4. Peel, chop and fry the onion and carrots in a pan with a little vegetable oil.

5. Add the fried vegetables and finely chopped cabbage to the pot with the broth.

6. Meanwhile, add a little more oil to the pan and add the grated beetroot. Fry for a couple of minutes and add vinegar. Simmer for another 5 minutes, then add the tomato paste. Simmer for another 5-7 minutes on low heat.

7. Add the meat to the broth, after cutting it into portions, add the beets.
