Looking for a festive but inexpensive snack? Then I offer you a recipe for making a herring roll surprisingly tasty, original and completely uncomplicated. You can prepare a herring roll with absolutely any filling. A great option would be boiled vegetables, thanks to which snack will be not only beautiful, but also more saturated.

How to make

1. First you need to clean the herring and remove all the bones to get a clean fillet. Put a small piece of cling film on the table and put two parts of the fillet on top so that they slightly cover each other.

2. Cover the fillet with another piece of cling film and gently line the fillet with a hammer, removing all thick stains. It is important not to damage the herring, but only to level it.

3. If the herring is low salted, you can salt it.

4. Smear the entire surface of the fillet with a thin layer of cream cheese. You can also use grated melted cheese. To taste, you can pepper a little or add dried herbs.

5. There are many options for how to make herring roll. In this case, the filling is very simple - chopped herbs and finely chopped olives.

6. Using a loose piece of cling film on the edge, wrap the roll, pressing it hard. Then it is possible to additionally wrap it in a sheet of cling film so that the wrapper keeps its shape well. Put in the refrigerator for 1-1.5 hours, and then put in the freezer another 15-20 minutes before serving.

7. Carefully unwrap the roll and cut into portions.

8. Can be served on a piece of bread previously dried in a pan or in the oven. If desired, you can rub the toast with garlic for taste.
