Rich, melting in her mouth and satisfying... a wonderful idea for the whole family! This dish is a highlight of Ukrainian cuisine, which is probably known all over the world. Despite the belief that each hostess has her own unique borscht, I want to share with you a version that will surely become your favorite. The process itself can not be called complicated, so even young and inexperienced chefs can safely try their hand at it.

How to make

1. Prepare the ingredients.

2. First, boil the broth. Rinse the meat, put in a saucepan and pour water. After boiling, reduce the heat to a minimum and cook until the meat is tender (the time depends on what kind of meat you have chosen). When ready, carefully remove the meat from the broth.

3. If desired, you can strain the broth. Salt to taste and add diced potatoes. Cook for about 10-12 minutes.

4. Peel onions and carrots, chop and fry in a pan with a little vegetable oil.

5. Finely chop the cabbage and, together with the fried vegetables, put in a saucepan with broth.

6. Meanwhile, add a little more oil to the pan and add the grated beets. Fry for a couple of minutes and add vinegar. Simmer for another 5 minutes, then add the tomato paste. Simmer over low heat for another 5-7 minutes.

7. Chop the meat and, together with the beets, put in the broth.

8. Add salt, pepper, sugar and garlic to taste. Cook for another 7-10 minutes until the potatoes are ready. Then remove from heat, cover with a lid and let stand for half an hour.
