3. Then boil the pearl barley in a separate saucepan for 1 hour. Grains should become soft. Drain in a colander and pour cold water.

4. Boil the meat with bones for 1-1.5 hours in boiling water. Then separate the meat from the bones and strain the broth.

5. Bring the broth to a boil and return the meat to it. Peel the potatoes, cut into pieces and put in boiling broth. Leave to boil for 15 minutes.
