Homemade herring is a real delicacy that everyone should try. Its taste is so delicate that the fish literally melts in your mouth. This is my favorite recipe that has proven itself over the years and is well known even among chefs. The preparation is quick and very simple, boiled potatoes with skin are very suitable for marinated herring, but they are also very tasty without them.

How to make

1. Prepare all the ingredients.

2. Defrost the herring, clean it, remove the head and wash it well.

3. Mix water, salt, sugar, vinegar, pepper and bay leaves in the container in which you will salt the herring.

4. Put the herring in the marinade and keep it in the refrigerator.

5. After 3 days, the herring is ready.

6. Cut the herring into pieces. Place the onion rings on top of the herring.
