Lentil soup with smoked meat is a soup that will also serve as a second course. The soup is very thick, spicy, hearty. It takes about two hours to cook this lentil soup. When making lentils soup, lentils can be soaked overnight or a couple of hours before boiling, but can be added to the soup along with a liter of water and stewed for 45 minutes. You can use the already prepared beef broth and in this case do not put drumsticks.

How to make

1. Prepare the ingredients for the soup. Peel and chop the onion and carrots. Wash and chop the greens. We will cut potatoes and sausages later. Rinse the drumsticks and put them in a saucepan with oil over medium heat. Fry lightly on both sides until the meat changes color. Then add the chopped onion. Fry until tender.

2. Add chopped carrots and sprigs of viburnum.

3. Boil for a few minutes, add bay leaf, pour water and add thyme. When the soup boils, reduce the heat to medium, remove the sediment, cover and simmer for 90 minutes.

4. After an hour and a half, choose yellowish twigs, if desired, you can remove the meat from the bone and return it to the soup. Now you should add the lentils with the water in which they were soaked and boil for 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can put dry lentils, add extra water and boil for 45 minutes.

5. While the lentils are boiling, chop the potatoes and sausages. After the time specified in the previous step, add everything that is crushed to the soup.

6. Also add tomato puree. Stir and cook for another 15 minutes.
