The American pumpkin pie is a traditional pie with a very delicate and fragrant filling on a crumbly dough. Pamper yourself and loved ones with dessert with a healthy autumn vegetable! How to make

1. Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Butter should be very cold.

2. First, prepare the dough. To do this, mix flour, salt, sugar and diced butter in a food processor.

3. Then slowly pour ice water. You may need a little less or a little more water, so add no more than a tablespoon at a time.

4. Form a ball from the dough, wrap it in cling film and put in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

5. In the meantime, prepare the filling. Bring the pumpkin to a boil and mash into a puree. Cool. Then pour sugar and eggs into pumpkin puree, mix.

6. Add starch, salt and spices.

7. Beat the cream and, together with the milk, pour into the filling, mix gently.

8. Roll out the cooled dough lightly and put it in a greased baking sheet, forming the sides with your hands. Beat the dough with a fork and cover with baking paper, sprinkle beans or other legumes on top. Bake at a temperature of 220 degrees for 10 minutes, then remove the beans and bake for another 5 minutes. Remove the crust from the oven.

9. Reduce the temperature in the oven to 190 degrees. Pour the filling over the crust and bake for 35-40 minutes. If the cake is too browned, cover the top of the cake with baking paper or foil.
