A great option for a cold snack that can be served simply with bread, spread on buns or stuff small tartlets. Spread is prepared simply and from a minimum set of products. If you like that there are lumps in the spread, grind everything in a meat grinder. If you want a denser mass, replace the butter with boiled eggs. Carefully check the herring fillet for small bones and be sure to remove the cuticle so that it does not appear in the spread.

How to make

1. Prepare all the ingredients. Rinse the carrots thoroughly, cook until tender, about 25-30 minutes and cool. Remove the butter in advance so that it softens.

2. Cut the herring fillet without skin into pieces and put in a blender bowl.

3. Peel the carrots and grate on a coarse grater, put in a blender bowl with fish.

4. Add butter.

5. Add the melted cheese.

6. Crush everything with a blender until smooth. Taste it and season with salt if desired. Transfer the herring spread to a jar, close and store in the refrigerator.
